Crazy? Or massively aggrieved?

Let me stipulate that for as much as I am onboard with a break-the-mold, game-changer president like Donald Trump, and as much as I endorse him using Twitter to bypass the northeast liberal media, I still wish he would moderate his Twitter game just a bit. Even I, a supporter, find it a bit disconcerting when he drops a bombshell Tweet with no backup at 5:30 in the morning. The Tweet in question is this one:

With my disclaimer on record, let’s try to understand why a President of the United States would level such an enormous charge.

There can be only two explanations.

The first is that Donald Trump is a complete nutcase given to outlandish statements that have no basis in reality and is therefore utterly unsuited for the office of the presidency. This is what nearly everyone on the Left wants you to believe. This is what nearly everyone on the Left themselves want to believe.

To the Left, it is plainly obvious that Donald Trump is so crazy, so unhinged and so unstable that he will self-destruct in short order. Tweeting at 5:30 in the morning about being wiretapped by the then sitting president is prima facie evidence. Another incident or two like this and Donald Trump will be so discredited as to become the first-ever president to become a lame duck by his third month in office.

So the Left believes and so they want you to believe.

The other explanation for President Trump’s incendiary Tweet is that he came into possession of solid information that really, really made him angry. Knowing that his communications had been hijacked for malign political purposes as evidenced by the takedown of Gen. Michael Flynn less than a month after he was sworn in as National Security Advisor, the president then learned that Flynn’s case was just the tip of the iceberg. He came to understand that the problem runs much deeper and has much more profound implications.

If it’s possible that Donald Trump is wall-eyed crazy, it’s just as possible that he became aware that the President of the United States – Barack Obama at the time – used the intelligence machinery of the United States to inflict political damage upon a presidential candidate from the opposition party during the course of a campaign.

After all, it’s not like it’s beyond them. We know that the Obama Justice Department tapped the phones and monitored the emails of FOX News Correspondent James Rosen, who at the time was doing stories that were not favorable to the Obama administration.

So either Donald Trump is rubber-room crazy. Or he has uncovered political wrongdoing on a scale so grand as to make Watergate look like a candy store shoplifting. It’s one or the other.

So let’s take a step back. Which seems more plausible to you?

Yeah, me too.

  1. At this point — before an international incident or the next mass shooting or other domestic block-out-the-sun event tests Trump’s actual leadership — his behavior suggests that his biggest worry oughtta be guys-with-butterfly-nets.

Witness the daily briefing (weekdays 1PM CT). Sean Spicer now chooses his words as carefully as a lawyer.

  2. Donald Trump is a smart and successful man. Very smart. Very successful. He hasn’t gotten as far as he has by being stupid. And we know what the left and their poster boy and his cronies will do to win or, failing to win, how far they will go to tear down the winner. Any serious investigation will show Trump right and Obama with his hand in the cookie jar up to the elbow.

I do NOT believe that PRESIDENT Trump is stupid enough to put something out there so profound as this and not know for sure there are teeth in it. I could rattle off statements that the left have made that made you wonder what planet they came from…Nancy Pelosi is such one that throws things out there with out thinking. What obama has done goes deeper than any of us would even dream of. I back President Trump and trust in him not to make a spectical of himself and the office of President as the former occupant of the oval office did.

Very good Paul….I’m with you….let’s wait and see.

Obama said he was going to destroy Trump. I am not surprised with any actions that seems to be even the most outlandish. Does Obama think he is going to get away with whatever he chooses to do? Is he that clever , or maybe not.

    Option 2.
