How dare we even presume to ask.

How dare anyone – least of all someone dispatched by Donald Trump – presume to investigate how our tax money gets spent. That’s exactly what Elon Musk – the richest man in the world – is doing and the Democrats are coming unglued.

Elon Musk is working for the Trump administration gratis and is heading up an ad hoc government…agency?, committee?, initiative?… call it whatever, it goes by “DOGE,” the Department of Government Efficiency. It’s not really a department in the strictest sense of the word but it doesn’t matter. Elon Musk is busy bringing to light the federal government’s horrific stewardship of our money. And right now, he’s focused on the United States Agency for International Development – a.k.a USAID.

Like most federal programs, USAID started with great intentions. President John F. Kennedy wanted to organize US foreign aid under a single agency. The agency’s principal mandate was to provide disaster and poverty relief to nations around the world who might otherwise have sought such relief from the Soviet Union – and in so doing fall under Soviet domination.

But also like most federal programs, USAID has mutated into something far removed from its founding vision.

And Elon Musk is on it.

Space is simply too short for an exhaustive listing of the ways USAID is wasting your money (while mocking your core values). But here’s a short list.

  • $446,000 to promote the expansion of atheism in Nepal.
  • $3.3 million to “normalize being LGBTQ” in the Caribbean.
  • How about this gem: $1 million to help disabled people in Tajikistan to become “climate leaders.”
  • 3.6 billion condoms having a price tag of $118.6 million spread about to 60 countries around the world.
  • $55,750 for a presentation—led by female and LGBTQ+ journalists—warning about the impact of “climate change” in Argentina.
  • $2 million for sex changes and “LGBT activism” in Guatamala.

The list never ends. And it is truly astonishing how much of it is tied in one way or another to either sex or climate change. And it’s equally astonishing how little of it is tied to disaster relief, poverty relief or indeed anything connected to American national interest.

When did you vote for any of this crap? When did Obama or Biden or Bush or Clinton or anybody tell us this was going on?

As for the Democrats, their attitude is, “How dare we question it?” Here’s a short montage of them melting down Wednesday over Elon Musk asking on our behalf.

Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) We will see you in the courts and Congress and the streets. Elon Musk is a Nazi nepo baby.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) It is time for us to shine. It is time for us to be heard. It is time for us to make sure that they know that we will not go.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) In the building behind me. Elon Musk is seizing power from the American people. We are here to fight back.

This is what now passes for policy debate among Democrats.

So, bottom line, stop and consider this. USAID is one agency. There are hundreds.

It’s probably a good thing that Elon Musk sleeps at the office.

Just one question. Musk was not elected, how is he getting the power to do all these things . DOESN’T HE HAVE TO HAVE CONGRESSIONAL APROVAL. Sorry for the CAPS,. but I did not elect Musk. WJERE IS J.D. VANCE….you know, the man who helped President Trump get elected.

Three of the senior groups I’m in (over 100 each) won’t vote next time at all….nor even in 2026 WE VOTTED FOR TRUMP and VANCE.

QUESTION OF THE HOUR; DOES MUSK NEED CONGRESSIONAL APPROVAL I WILL NEV ER VOTE FOR MUSK IF THIS IS WHT HE IS AIMING FOR

Elon Musk has zero executive authority. But President Trump does. Musk has been lawfully appointed by Trump to make recommendations. Trump may then act on them at his discretion under his executive authority under the Constitution. That is precisely what is happening.

Good questions, Elane. But where’s your angst about those that secretly spend taxpayer money without proper Congressional authorization, to promote social issues in other countries that do nothing to help the American public? Elon is just shining a light on what’s happening, without spending taxpayer $$. The relationship he has with the government (as an unpaid contractor) is not unusual at all…..there are literally thousands of PAID contractors doing studies and making recommendations. Would you feel better if Trump paid him a tidy sum to do this work? I suspect that your angst is not at all about a perceived constitutional issue but rather a knee jerk defense of a political agenda. As for me, I’m outraged that some in government have hijacked taxpayer $$ for very questionable purposes. I hope Elon and his team shine the same light into every corner of government spending.

    • I must wonder this Elaine; Where is your outrage over George Soros, who used his own money to enable the people who created monsters like USAID, and who knows how many other Federal agencies? He also funded elections of soft on crime district attorneys all over the USA to subvert our law. When did you express your outrage about this un-elected official, who does not even live in the US, yet has done his best to use his money to unravel our rule of law and damage our society?

      • Mike says:

Let’s not forget Soro’s attempt to buy over 200 radio stations across the USA to spread his message all across the “Fruited plains” to quote the late Great, Rush Limbaugh. You know his messages will NOT be Peace and Love.

Another example of congress delegating their authority to unelected bureaucrats so that they don’t have to work a full schedule

  4. Mike says:

WE need every tax payer to refuse to pay 2025 taxes. And send a Bill to Congress for refunds for the last four years. We need an uprising against this kind of immoral, unethical, so far left it is almost indescribable abuse. Condoms to Gaza? Really?!?! And then there is all the other insane crap they spend OUR money on. Unconscionable, evil, illegal, stupid, there is not enough adjectives to describe this spending. My head is about to explode.

  5. Rusty says:

Thank goodness we didn’t listen to the moderates who wanted Nikki Haley.

  6. Greg R says:

Why is it that democrats heads are exploding? It’s everyone’s taxpayer dollars that are being wasted. Go get ‘em Elon!

  7. Linda E. Montrose says:

What really ruffles my feathers is the sending money over to places where a sizable chunk comes back and lands in the pockets of these politicians who fight tooth and nail to send money over to these places in the first place! Our government was not intended to be the worlds piggy bank. OUR government is to keep AMERICA SAFE.
People complain about President Trump, but do they stop to think that President Trump does NOT take the salary being paid a president instead gives his salary to charity! I didn’t see obama doing that!
WHY are dems heads exploding? Because they have tunnel vision and hearing…just a small amount gets through to their brains.
I could not watch the dems trying to take apart people who were being questioned about being confirmed. They would ask a question over and over, then say they didn’t answer their questions. Dems are about the RUDEST people on planet Earth.
WE, THE PEOPLE have every right to question where our TAX dollars go so I say GO ELON!!!
